no caroline I will NEVER forgive you for liking anthy. ^^ And Michelle my hatred of anthy doesn't have JUST to do with her bland behavior.... It's all of the other stuff that comes out in the last arc of the series... I could go in great lengths about my thoughts on this and how it relates to her in the first two arcs... but I really don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen it.... let's just say I completely disagree with all who claim that she redeemed herself in the end. Somethings can't be redeemed and it was too little too late anyway.

*ahem* Sorry it took me so long to put this list together, but I've been busy. Ok, that's a lie. I've been lazy. ;)Caro-chan's list of annoying anime characters: (after #1, these are in no particular order)
1. Relena Darlain/Peacecraft (GW) -- the bitch must die! I swear, can't she take no for an answer? She's worse than Minako at stalking people (mainly Heero). I wish Heero had killed her when he had the chance. She just can't get it through her thich head that Heero belongs to Duo. (Ok, that's my fantasy... but I still hate her.)
2. Nanami (SKU) -- Sorry Di! I like Nanami in non-Nanami centered episodes. But the cow ep really, really annoyed the crap outta me.
3. All the Inner Senshi except Rei-chan, including the Chibispawn (BSSM) -- Ami's too bland, Minako is too ditsy, Makoto just doesn't do anything for me, Usagi is too much of a brat, and Chibiusa was a mistake. Someone give Queen Serenity some birth control next time.
4. Ayeka (Tenchi) -- She might not be all that bad in the subbed version (haven't seen any yet), but her dubbed voice grates on my ears. Plus I think Ryoko and Tenchi make the better couple anyway.
5. Miaka and Tamahome (FY) -- I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you... for god's sakes, make up your damned minds!!
6. Hikaru (MKR) -- I hate her voice, I hate how she gets all the guys and she's ugly. Sorry.
7. Merle (Escaflowne) -- For some reason, I hate cat-girls.

Diana: You know me. I like my bishounen pretty and weak. I love Kamui. ^_^ I thought your description of MB was pretty accurate... I died laughing when I read that. And have you forgiven me for liking Anthy yet? After Juri, I think she's my favorite character on SKU.
Michelle: I rather liked Shinji. He didn't want to be an EVA pilot and had one crappy thing after another happen to him. Granted he's not my favorite character on Evangelion but I liked him all the same...

Hi! Here I am blogging from Texas. It was nice to leave the freezing temps behind even if only for a few days. Actually, I'm suprised we made it here at all! Our original flight out of Knox was delayed so we had to fly standby to another airport and catch the last plane out of Atlanta to Houston. We flew in to Intercontinental rather than Hobby which put us on the opposite side of Houston. We finally got to sleep around 3 AM.Haven't had time to watch much anime, but I need a new series to watch. I have tons of tapes that I have never seen, but none of them sound interesting. =( I am getting a buttload of anime cds in on trade this week. I now have a complete set of Marmalade Boy. That would have really excited me about a year ago!

Um, sorry Diana. :) I just don't like Nanami. Anyway, to comment on your annoying characters . . .Anthy never struck me as being that annoying because she was supposed to lack a personality (or so I understood). As for Kamui, I don't know enough about X to judge whether or not I like him. I do think he seemed okay in the movie and Fuuma was rather yummy. Fuu -- well, I'll agree she doesn't seem to be that brilliant (Eagle is the smartest character in MKR) but I still think she's okay (Umi's cooler though). Miaka -- well, I've only seen the first twenty or so episodes of Fushugi Yuugi. From what I saw she seemed to be very much the stereotypical shoujo anime heroine (hyper, eats a lot, not very smart, etc). I guess if I hated her I'd hate 90% of all main shoujo anime characters, which I don't. However, their sidekicks are always more interesting in my opinion. In Sailor Moon every single other scout was much more intresting than Usagi (sorry Kristen) except the chibispawn and perhaps Minako (Venus).
Marmalade Boy is rather like Tokyo meets the WB, isn't it? Of course, most WB shows (besides Buffy and Angel) annoy me far more than Marmalade Boy, which, although I agree it's not brilliant, kept me going out of curiosity. Character-wise, I do like Yuu (wish I could find a boyfriend like him, but that's another story) who I find absolutely droolable. Meiko and Na-chan I liked as well and Arami was okay. The rest of the characters are rather annoying but most of them (Ginta, Suzu, etc) grew on me. But if you want a high school drama, I think Kare-Kano (His & Her Circumstances) and Hana Yori Dango are much better, especially Kare-Kano.

*comes in really late* Ahh! I know Michelle asked almost a week ago about annoying anime characters (and YES I'm heavily offended by the attack on nanami }:< ^^) but I'm going to respond anyway. These are in no particular order because I can't discern the degrees of passion with which I hate something properly. I just hate. ^^1. Kamui (X)- oh yuck. I know I lot of people like him but dear goddess he bugs me. He acted like such a moody little bitch in the first several volumes and then he just struck me as weak and worthless. I hope Fuuma slaughters him.
2. Anthy (SKU)- OK I take back what I said about not being able to measure my hatred. I hate Anthy the worst. I know her attitude was necessary for the plot to carry on but still. I want her to burn in Anime hell.
3. Fuu (MKR)- I don't buy that bit about her being the smartest Magic Knight. Nothing she had to say is all THAT brilliant. All it does is make me wonder if she's the smartest, how dumb are the other two supposed to be?
4. Miaki (FY)- Ew Ew Ew Ew!
5. Most of the cast of Marmalade Boy. That series was like Tokyo meets the WB network. LOL I don't like high school dramas at all.
I made it back from Chattanooga in one piece!! (Though it was quite hairy at one point with all the damn road construction.) Anyway, I only bought one anime related thing.*drumroll*
I actually found a copy of the Gundam W Episode 0 manga!!!!! I thought I was going to pass out when I saw it. They also had the Endless Waltz manga which I know I'm going to kick myself for not getting later. Now, for the three of you who don't really care about Gundam, finding the Episode 0 manga is like finding the holy grail for me. (Isn't that sad?) So be happy for me, k? ^_^

Yay! Blogger's working again! We can post!!Most anime series have a fetish for Tokyo Tower. It's either important in some way or it gets blown up. I hope the tax payers don't have to keep footing the bill to repair it everytime some evil bad-guy destroys it. That would suck.
In other anime news (or whatever) I bought the Vampire Hunter D dvd the other day. It was really good. But damn if I don't want to see the new version. The animation looks wonderful! *drools* And tomorrow I'll be heading on down to Chattanooga for a little pre-Christmas shopping spree.
I'm still compiling my list of annoying characters. I'll post about that tomorrow if I survive the Chattanooga traffic.

So, am I the only person that's noticed all of CLAMP's work seem to feature the Tokyo Tower prominantly? In Magic Knights Rayearth they get called to Cephiro from Tokyo Tower, in Sakura she faces Yue on the Tokyo Tower and in X the final battle takes place on the tower. I'm sure it's in other CLAMP works that I haven't seen too. You know, if I ever go to Tokyo I'm going to have to go visit it just because I've seen it so frequently in anime.You know, I've gotta wonder what Freud would think about this fascination with a prominant phallic symbol...Oh, and for the record, I'm working on a website for Legend of Basara called Star Crossed. It's a work in progress but it's the first website I've ever decided to do on an anime series. I've always thought that it was pointless do do a website about a show that there are two hundred other sites for and Basara is so little known I decided it deserved some attention. So, go look. ;)
Waaahhhh!!! :~(I got my new anime today. Four volumes of Magic Knights Rayearth, the first two MKR OAV's and the X movie. I watched the two MKR OAV's (one more) and I have to say grown up Clef is kinda yummy. After that I watched the X movie. . . . Without giving anything away for anyone who reads this and hasn't seen it or knows nothing about X (like I did coming in -- I bought it because it was CLAMP), let me just say it's depressing. Really really depressing. I think I need to go take some prozac now . . .
