CCS is cute isn't it? And I don't really go for cute...

I've got to stop buying anime. I have a stack of tapes I haven't watched yet. The only tape of that bunch you've sent me, Michelle, is the Ayashi no Ceres one. I have DVDs I've bought that I haven't even watched yet. I now have the entire run of Vampire Princess Miyu and haven't even watched a single episode yet. Ugh. There's just not enough hours in the day for me to do everything. Thank goodness school's out and I don't have to worry about getting called in. Maybe I can catch up with my tapes. ^_^

I promise, Michelle... as soon as I finish my newest Gundam Wing DVD I'll watch Initial D. ^_^

Oh, I've failed to mention that Card Captor Sakura has become my favorite magical girl series (Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne comes in second). Seeing the second season and the second movie (which is too adorable) finished any sort of tie I had between those two series. I just love CCS . . . it's so cute :}

Let's see . . . I've now watched Hana Yori Dango through volume 11 (one more to go). It gets really interesting once Domyouji's fiancee enters the picture (and she's an interesting character too). But like Marmalade Boy, I have a habit of fast forwarding through entire scenes, pausing briefly to catch the dialouge. There are just too many long, dramatic pauses and extensive flashbacks. In my opinion, if someone wants to make high school shoujo romance dramas much better they need to cut out the about ten episodes (from HYD) or twenty episodes (from MB) worth of useless stuff. Both of them make me want to see the end but it just takes too long to get there . . . I think they could be much better if they were shorter . . .

Oh, and I've fallen in love with Rurouni Kenshin. Caro-chan had to give me the first DVD for a graduation present....which, after having seen the OAV's at anime club, finished my addiction. Kenshin has all the elements of a great anime series: an interesting hero, character development, action, drama . . . and it also gets into history, which is something I find fun :) So...I want to see more.

Other anime I've watched recently: the first four Cowboy Beebop DVD's . . . I've liked this series and think that the animation is incredible and has interesting characters and back-story . . . but I do think the overall plot is rather weak. Unless the last two DVD's have an improved plot line, it won't be added to my top ten best series list any time soon. Don't get me wrong -- it's definatly worth seeing and I don't regret buying the DVD's . . . but it's still not the best I've ever seen IMO. But hey, both Faye Valentine and Ed have been added to my "female anime characters who rock" list. ;)

*belated ow!* Don't worry Caro-chan, I'll watch Fushigi Yuugi soon :)

So yes, I've graduated now. I now have a BA in both English and History. shameless plug If anyone would like to buy me something to congratulate me there's always my amazon.com wish list.

I've been sadly neglecting this blog lately and I will admit it. Part of it was due to me feeling stressed over school (I had the class from hell (tm) to pass to ensure graduation) . . . and no one else seemed to post on here much and I felt lonely being the only Otaku Girl to post. Plus, I post a lot of anime commentary on my personal blog and keeping up two blogs can get tiring. So, I stopped posting a lot. But now that graduation is over I'm going to try and start posting some more although when I leave for Japan in August I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post anywhere (I do plan on keeping a personal blog called "The Otaku in Japan" though).

So, I shall now attempt to return you to your regularly scheduled otaku talk :)
